Your proper star inside of you
December is the year-end review when we sum up our achievements and document the progress we’ve made. Unfortunately, our achievements sometimes sometimes seem disappointing. Deadlines, gift-shopping for Christmas and New Year, the coming exam session — our plans increase at an exponential rate and time and energy decrease in the same manner. How can we not let ourselves down and find the strength to finish the year strong before the start of the New Year?
Being suppressed by the tense atmosphere, there is such a time when one’s motivation just vanishes, then laziness and apathy come instead. It’s important to catch yourself when you’re thinking “I want to do nothing” — and to reignite the flame inside of you which leads to the positive vibes. Fortunately, there are some simple and valuable ways which help to deal with such problem:
- Make a plan. When you cannot memorize information given in the textbooks, and simultaneously need to remember what Christmas gifts you’re going to make or buy, then put your thoughts on paper. It helps to clarify what-when-where you should do, who will get a-present which you’d like to gift when the time comes.
- Don’t postpone your time for rest. Apathy and physical exhaustion could be considered as the symptoms of bodily tiredness, — your organism needs rest. Making time for studying and Christmas and New Year preparation, remember to get a cup of tea watching TV-series and simply enjoying the evening.
- Throw in your lot with someone else. You might get extremely tired by the end of the year. Talk with your classmates, friends and other folks and share your feelings with them. You can gather together and solve problems. A good conversation is a positive thing.
- Make your workplace comfy and cozy. It’s time to sort a mountain of books and papers, throw away unnecessary things. As soon as you do it, decorate your workplace: stick a string light to the wall and place around your favourite pictures. Remember to get some plants; they’ll help you to feel at home. When everything is in order, you can get down to business.
- Remember to set new targets while you’re summarizing achievements. After reflecting failures of the passing year, make new goals. Dream a little, think and make a wish! Then decide, what you can do to make it true. 6. Keep in mind, the best is coming! Soon we’ll celebrate New Year which we have to start refreshed and full-energized. During holidays, you’ll get long-awaited meetings with your fellas and relatives; you’ll get cherished presents and deserved rest! And then you’ll set off on new adventures consisting of 12-month of new events, expectations, and changes. Remember that!
Well, that’s how I overcome emotional burn-out and fuel a small flame and start a new year. And you, cheer up! Happy holidays!
