Quiz Time
Time is a really precious thing. It gives rules, changes one’s lifestyle and helps people adapting to the changes. No matter how it goes, a winner will always be someone who has control over his time.
Time-management has become a necessary skill for the modern people in this era. Different planning systems have been discussed in the books published by «Альпина паблишер» and «Манн, Иванов и Фербер». The examples of planning systems given in the books by the authors are SMART, Agile Rezults and GTD. Indeed, it is not easy to manage time efficiently, but it triggers someone to develop their time-management skill once they try.
One of the benefits of time-management is undoubtedly to make everything that has planned finished in time. Moreover, it will definitely improve skills in the nonprofessional field more than others by constantly practicing time-management. The people who have good time-management skill are really admired and sometime even begrudged by others. Here is a question: what are the things that impede us from implementing our plans? They are laziness and procrastination. Yoel Regev said procrastinator can be active, but laziness is a full rejection of any activity. This has clearly stated that in order to improve time-management skill, it is a must having a firm faith in mind to confront the laziness.
In addition, another problem arises — what can we do to strengthen the rational thought? Mariya Lyakhova-Tragel had mentioned the classification for the irrational and rational people and she gave some advices. Here are her advices: “Rational people are more likely to have classical time-management with strict and clear plan; in contrast, irrational people need a flexible planning that gives more liberty and spontaneity.”
The development of techniques and methods using by psychologists and other researches of human personality helps us to understand ourselves better and eventually make some improvement in our personality.
Everyone has different level of engagement. Some of us do not have enough time whereas some have ample amount of it. I really appreciate the time I have because I am really run out of time. Time flies when the things are going on like how it planned and finally done.
Did you notice how fast the first-year ended? It seems like yesterday I stepped in the university as a first-year student and now my first year is going to finish. From my observations, I can make a conclusion that student of KSMU is lack of time. So, how should a student of medical university manage their time?
For me, I practice the “MCC” rule — мотивация, сила духа и стремление к мечте (motivation, fortitude and desire to dream). People, especially the students of KSMU, are able to overcome any obstacles; there is always a value behind any obstacle.
Of course, dreams to obtain the best results in education should be supported by well-planning of time, tasks, and prioritization. It is vital to not waste every minute of yours, so that the life in medical school includes not only studies (although it is unbelievable) but also the creativity to manage time by not excluding personal life.
Furthermore, by taking all the circumstances faced by the student into account; it cannot be denied that it is better to get acquainted with time-management. There are many different tools and methods of time-management provided to support the integrity of an individual and his desires toward self-realization and self-improvement. Dariya Koshkina mentioned applications that can help optimizing time; Ekatherina Lyakhova who leads the student council, student science society and others, gave a talk about time planning to the students as well.
In conclusion, it does not matter what the planning system we choose, we have to apply and practice on it. We have to learn to manage our time properly in order to prevent a rush in doing our tasks.
