Life Lesson from Physics: Newton’s law of motion
I would love to share a lesson from physics. Of course, everybody knows what physics is, but the focus in this segment isn’t about the formula and all. Rather, we will discuss the wisdom behind the law of nature, so I will start with Newton’s first law of motion.
Basically, Newton’s first law states that an object will not change its state of motion unless there’s an external force that acts upon it. So, what about the law? What is so interesting about it? What can we self-reflect in this?
Take it easy and smile.
Now, let’s look at the picture of the full stop and the line. Let’s compare, what exactly makes a line, a full stop or a dot different?
The length or what? Think about it yourself, haha
Okay! Let’s be serious.
From the comparison, we know that a line is basically an extension of a continuous dot which overlap each other. So, let’s imagine that we are the dot. Here, we have two possible decisions.
First, we can either choose to stay, not moving and remaining a dot, a single dot. This symbolizes our choosing not to try and improve ourselves, and also refusing to move forward and reach our goals.
Second, we can choose to move the pen, making a series of continuous dots and forming a line which length is decided by how far we are willing to go. The limit is on yourself. You are the biggest wall in a fight of moving forward and do something better.
So, what does this have to do with Newton’s law of motion?
It’s an easy guess, mate! Dreams and ambitions won’t ever be achieved unless there is action in our daily life. Unless we push ourselves forward, we aren’t going to achieve anything in our lives. If we want to change anything, we must take action. We need to be proactive and keep moving forward and make our own line and with this line of yours, you can either choose to draw a beautiful picture or just a useless drawing.
Next, we are responsible for every single choice that we make in our lives. When we are moving forward, we need to be aware of the direction, the purpose and the target that we are heading to. Because there is always a chance that when we choose the wrong direction, maybe we drown in the made choices.
Move forward and be a better person every day, even though it’s just a smile. Because, a single smile, an act of kindness may help another person to overcome their depression or harmful though.
Lastly, I would love to share a verse that I once read which touches the topic about choice and change in humans. It says: “God will not change a people’s life unless they change their own selves“.
That’s all for this segment. I hope that we all have learned something new and found more motivation in our lives.
