Forge of Traits, or Memories of Former Patriots
The army is a separate world with its own laws. For a young man, the call is an indescribable fright. However, the service helps them to overcome fear and harden their character. We have decided to ask the opinion of teachers and students who served in the army, how was there and why was it useful to them.

I served from 1977 to 2004. I am a career reserve officer. It all started at the age of 18 when I entered a military school. It was my choice. I served in many parts, from the West to the East. The last place of service was in the Tula airborne division. The service helped to develop such qualities of responsibility and loyalty to principles. I would like to wish the young men to serve in the army, of course, this will help to strengthen their character.

My service lasted from 1977 to 1979 in a military unit belonging to the marine corps. We were lucky that there was no bullying. I was immediately accepted into their circle. The old people didn’t let us offend them. I began my service in Gagra. Its a fact that serving is followed by constantly changing of location. It was impossible to arrange life properly. This was the main difficulty that the family man could not accept at first. I started my service as a common soldier, and finished as an officer. I believe that the modern army should be professional and to educate their children with dignity.

He served in the 38th guards regiment of the airborne forces in the Moscow region. During his post, he was a signal man of the space communications station and head of the medical service of the first communication battalion. The army breaks down and re-creates a person not only physically, but also mentally, and teaches them to overcome their fears. This is a great chance to change radically. Everyone finds their own advantages, he personally learned to understand people and became more disciplined. Undoubtedly, the quality of service is affected by the personnel of the unit. I was lucky with my superiors, he was brought up like a diligent soldier. he doesn’t regret it.

He studied at the Suvorov military school in Moscow, and entered in 2012 at the age of 12. He belonged to the land forces. He was a deputy platoon commander for 5 years and was a company foreman for the last 2 years. He graduated from the school with a red diploma with the rank of a Sergeant. Those who were responsible for us were veteran officers and honored teachers of the USSR and the Russian Federation, who were able to give a decent upbringing and education. A lot of focus was paid to discipline. Most of the time were devoted to cultural development. We often visited museums, exhibitions, galleries, and events aimed at developing a patriotic view. I am grateful to the military school for bringing up my independence and responsibility at the age of 13. If you have the opportunity and desire, you should go to military schools, because after training, the young becomes independent and disciplined.

I served in a military unit located in the Tver forests. The nearest settlement was about 12 km away. I was a sanitary instructor-dosimetrist for the management of a company of electrical security equipment and an assistant to the head of the guard. My duties included: morning and evening inspections of personnel, accompanying patients to the hospital, and duty in the infirmary. I spent more than 100 days on guard, and about 170 days in company outfits. I do not regret it as I have grown up to some extent, and was able to rethink many things in my life.
